Happy Birthday

It's time for another Do You Stack Up Challenge!!  Last week we had a tremendous turnout!  Thank you all for joining in on the fun.  This week is all about patterns.  Here is the inspiration for you.

We are being sponsored by two great companies this week.  Stitchy Bear Stamps is offering a $10 gift certificate to their store and Black Leaf Studios is offering up an adorable digi stamp set named Sweet Cupcakes.

Here is my shaped card.  I made this for a good friend of mine at work.  I enlarged the image (from Black Leaf) to almost  7" tall then printed it on white card stock.  I cut out the image and then traced it onto another piece of white card stock and cut it out.  I cut off about  1 1/2" from the top of the traced cupcake. Then I folded it and glued it to back of the printed cupcake.  Now the card opens from the top of the frosting.  I wish I took pictures of it from the side; it would have made sense!!  LOL
I printed it again on three different pattern papers so I could piece it.   I colored the flame with copics and added stickles to it and the brads for a little glitz.

I hope you go over and check out DYSU and submit a project.

Marcy

Go Dolphins!!

Hi Everyone,

I know, I know the Dolphins are not even in the playoffs, but frankly I don't care!  This is a page for my neice.  If you know me, you know I make all the layouts for my neice.  Kelly loves the whole idea of scrapbooking, but doesn't have the time or desire to do it herself.  That's OK, she so appreciates all the time and love I put into each of her layouts, so it's worth it to me.

Keep in mind, Kelly lives in Florida and I live in New York.  She uploads her pictures to Snapfish.  We  look at them as we talk on the phone.  We laugh and share all about the photos.  She also tells me what to say in the journaling.  It keeps me really connected to the kids, too.  I love it!

So, the boys went to the Dolphin game together.  They go quite often, so this isn't a very special event.  But they took photos, the kids looked so darn cute and Kelly wanted to scrap them...so I did.  I found the Dolphin font on 1001 Fonts for FREE and downloaded it.  Then I cut it with SCAL softwear and my Cricut.
Gotta love SCAL! I also found the Dolphin logo on-line and printed it.

I followed the sketch up at Stuck On U Sketches.  It was perfect for the number of photos I had.

I alos entered this in Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything goes
Have a great day everyone.  Don't hate me because I don't care about football! LOL

Marcy

Time Flies

Happy Sunday All,

There is another great new challenge up over at Gingerloft Stamps.  Today's theme is "Time Flies."  I used the beautiful image named Leaf Collage.  Isn't it unique??

I paper pieced this one again.  I seem to be doing that a lot lately, but this one really seemed to call out for it!  I printed the image four times; once each on rust, gold, brown and green.  I cut out the leaves and used chalks to add color their faces, then lifted them off the card with pop-dots.

After I cut out the watch face, I put on a very thick coat of Glossy Accents.  When it dried, I cracked it for that vintage effect.  I inked the little paper doily and all the edges of each piece. I colored some flat back pearls with copics to match the paper colors, too.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I hope you go over to Gingerloft Challenge and see all the beautiful projects the gals made for you today.
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Valentine's Day

 Happy Saturday Friends,

I've got two projects up today.  First, is the newest Unscripted Sketch challenge card.  This is a very versatile sketch.  I can easily see it working for a scrapbook layout.  The DP is from this year's Valentine's stack from DCWV.  I will be sending this card to my Great Nephews (2 & 4 years old).

Also up is Alison's newest Dollar Digi over at Stretch N Bubbles.  This adorable tree is named Dotted Tree and you can get it for only $1.00 this week...then it goes back to regular price.

I paper pieced the tree rather than color it in.  I printed the image twice - once each on green and brown.  I did use some copic T1 around the edges to give the image some definition.  The sentiment is from a set by Autumn Leaves named "Sentiment Circles."  The hearts are Rain Dots from Fiskars.  I dotted Glossy Accents on the tree berries and around the scallops for some added dimension
.
That's all for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Come back tomorrow for a new challenge up over at Gingerloft Stamps.

Hugs,
Marcy

DO YOU STACK UP? New Challenge...Think Pink

How's this for inspiration?  I must say, I am loving the inspirational pieces that our talented DT members are designing.  They are as beautiful as the projects!

This is the new challenge up over at Do You Stack Up?  We have two sponsors this week. You can win 3 stamps from Pink Gem Designs or 7 digis from Bugaboo Stamps.  Go on over and check out the gorgeous pink projects we created for this week.

Here is mine.  I used the Giraffe image from Pink Gem.  Isn't she adorable?  I colored her with copics R81, R83 & R85.  I used YR20 for the yellow.  I added stickles for the sparkle.  The flat back pearls were white until I colored they with YR20!  I popped my giraffe off the page for added dimension.

Have a wonderful day!  See you Saturday.

Marcy

I Adore You

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Today we have a new challenge up at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC).  It is a wonderful sketch that would be great for a Valentine's Day card or layout.  There are two sketch choices...you can go fancy or plain.  As you can see, I went with fancy!  In fact, I think I went a little overboard with the embellies, but Valentine's Day does that to me!  LOL  I hope you go over and check out my DT sisters and the gorgous projects they created.

This wonderful image is named "Man with Flowers" and was created by Priscilla at Priscillastyles.  It can be found here in her store. I colored my gentleman's suit and shoes with copic C grays.  I gave his shoes a nice thick coating Diamond Glaze so they look nice and shiny.  It's hard to see in the pic, but I colored his ring with Spica gold.

We are expecting snow again tonight. YUCK!!!  I hope it is light.  My kids are supossed to go back home to Florida today and I would hate for them to be delayed and sitting in an airport...that is the quickest way to ruin a great vacation!

Stay warm.
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Saturday Everyone,
Today there is a new sketch up over at Unscripted Sketches. This is a very versatile sketch. I made a photo greeting card for my niece and nephew. I will send it to them for Valentine's Day.

The flower was made from old book pages. You know punched with a scalloped circle punch 6 - 7 times. Then scrunched up with a brad in the center. I never get tired of these flowers! I used my Zutter Distrezz-it-All for all the great distressing on the card. I love that tool; it makes distressing so simple.
Well, that's it for me today. My kids are visiting from Florida and we have a lot to do today!!

Have a great one.
Hugs,
Marcy

Sweet Ballerina

Welcome all to Thursday here in New York. Well, we were socked with a huge
snow storm yesterday. We've got a lot to do to get out from under this one. But the good news is we all got to stay home in a warm house and I had time to craft!! See, you can find some good in everything! LOL

Today's challenge up at Do You Stack Up is all about Distressing. That's the phrase --so run with it to create a project to submit to the challenge. There are some more great prizes to win this week! This image is from Whoopsie Daisy who designs some of the most adorable digis around.

I colored our little ballerina with copics and added some stickles to her bodice. Then I went a little heavy with the embellies, just everything I saw I loved and had to use. HAHA, it's hard to stop! Anyhow, I am pleased with how it turned out. My DT sisters used selected images from the Woopsie Daisy site. You will be amazed at the beautiful projects these images inspired. Please come over and check them out and DYSU!
Have a wonderful day. I am preparing for my kids' visit from Florida and am very excited!
Hugs,
Marcy

WOOF

Hi Everyone and Happy Tuesday,

We are expecting a huge snowstorm tonight. YUCK!! I really hate the snow. All it does is cause problems, accidents and bad backs. One day I am going to retire to Florida and never have to deal with snow again!! One Day...

Alison has a new dollar digi up over at Stretch 'N Bubbles. Isn't he cute hiding there in the grass? You can pick him up this week for only $1.00. He will only last for one week at $1.00, so go and grab him quickly!

I colored him with copics. I added Diamond Glaze on his nose and stickles on the flowers which I popped off the page. The DP is DCWV and the little dog bone button is from my stash.

Have a wonderful day and don't forget to visit the new challenge blog Do You Stack Up on Thursday for some great inspiration and prizes!!

Hugs,

Marcy

Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Everyone,

It's soooo cold up here in New York, but at least we beat the last expected snow. Now we are told to brace for another big storm this week...I hope not, my kids from Florida are coming for a visit. I will be so disappointed if they get "snowed out"!!!

Today is a day for CELEBRATIONS over at Gingerloft Challenge. This is certainly a useful challenge. Who doesn't need more birthday or anniversary cards?

So, go on over and check out the gorgeous projects my talented DT sisters prepared for this challenge. Create a project and upload it...you could be asked to be the next Guest Designer or win some awesome digis.

I made mine into a birthday card for my store manager. She is a great gal and I wanted to show her what her staff thought of her. So, I used the Hero Woman digi image that Tami created.

Notice that this gal is wearing short shorts....well, that wouldn't do for my manager since she is not allowed to wear these at work! HAHA. I paper pieced the image and gave the heroine a skirt instead. In fact, all parts except her skin and hair are paper pieced. The rest is colored with copics. Just another way to show you the versatility of digi stamps!

I had the whole staff sign the card and she loved it!

Have a great day everyone...Stay Warm!!
Hugs,
Marcy

The new year brings with it some new artistic challenges for me. This is my first post as a member of Priscillastyles new design team. I am excited! This card is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge which is presented on Priscilla's blog. It is a weekly challenge blog with loads of uber talented designers and great prizes. I hope you can find the time to check it out!

The beautiful digi image is named Angel Nights and can be found here in Priscillastyles store. I colored her with copics. Then added loads of stickles to her wings for some real glitz. I used Prima flowers and Say It With Pearls Swirls.

There are two choices of sketches you may follow. Here they are. As you can see, I chose to use the "fancy" sketch.

Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!!

This is the newest Dollar Digi up over at Stretch N Bubbles. As you know, Alison keeps it up for about a week. I just love this image. This adorable little mouse is named Cheesy Cake! You can find him here in the store. Grab him for only $1 -- next week it will be back at the regular price.

The DP is from DCWV and I thought it was so cute to use kitty cats as a background for a mouse! I used a totally different color palette than I normally would use. This is pink, grey and green. It looks very nice in person...I couldn't quite get the photo to show it's true colors.

I colored the image with Copic N greys. Then added some stickles to his cute little ears, nose and feet. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Oh, and I know that it is supposed to be cheese, but I LOVE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! So as the artist, I took some poetic license. LOL

Don't forget Thursday is the first DO YOU STACK UP CHALLENGE!!

Have a great one!
Hugs,
Marcy

Again, Happy New Year to everyone. I hope the coming year brings peace, love and prosperity to you all.

Over at Unscripted Sketches we went with the theme Should Old Sketches (Not) Be Forgot! Cute right? All the Dt sisters chose an old sketch and created a new project with it.

Here is the one I did. The image was a freebie from Beccy a while back. She is named Nell on a Bicycle and you can find her here. The background is a stamp from Doodle Factory called Countryside Backdrop.

I used copics to color everything in. Then I added stickles on the mountain top, Nell's blouse and flowers. I put a thick coating of Diamond Glaze on her hat and bicycle. I cut Nell out and popped her off the card for some added depth. The sentiment is from a Cloud Nine acrylic stamp set.

Have a great day!!
Hugs,
Marcy
