DYSU Challenge - Clear, Light Pink and Mauve

Hi Everyone,

It's Thursday, so you know what that means...a new challenge is up over at Do You Stack Up.
Curious what might be the new theme for this week´s challenge?! (yes, I know it´s in the title... :-) ) Ok, here we go: DYSU challenge #13

Surprise us with your wonderful creations using this gorgeous color combination!

Each week, we have wonderful prizes for the random winner.  Today, our lovely DYSU site owner ALISON is rewarding each of our Top 3 picks with 2 (single) images from her awesome Stretch N Bubbles Shop!! Not only today, but with every challenge from today on!  How cool is that?!

This week's wonderful sponsors:
Blackleaf: is giving stamp set "Lantern Stamps"
Stitchy Bear: is giving $10 Gift Voucher (will be good on StitchyStamps, Floppy Latte Designs, and Lexi Creations)
Digis with Attitude: is giving a $10 CAD (Canadian Funds) Gift Certificate for their store

For my card, I went literally with CLEAR and used a transparency for my card base.  They are actually quite sturdy.  I used a bone folder to score and really give a crisp crease to the acetate.  I used the image Lantern 1 from the  Blackleaf Lantern Set.  I colored it with the copics (shown below) and cut it out. I used gold stickles on the top and bottom of the lantern.

I had the perfect background paper from a DCWV stack named Far East.  It needed a little more pink, so I inked the edges of the paper.  I had this wonderful coin in my stash that made a great embellie.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and is gold embossed, although it's hard to tell from the pics.

Please go and check out the super inspirational projects from the Design Team at DYSU.

Have a super day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Hi Friends,
Today there is a new sketch up at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC).  I used Priscilla's fabulous new image Potting Flowers for my card.

I printed the image twice - once on white and once on the pattern paper.  I cut the gloves out of the pattern image.  After coloring the image with copics, I glued the pattern gloves onto the colored image.  I stickled the flower centers for some glitz.    The sentiment was computer generated.  All the flowers are from Prima.
I added a little raffia bow for a finishing touch.

You are welcome to use either sketch, plain or fancy, for your project.  Take a look at the design team's projects for some wonderful inspiration.

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Marcy

Dollar Digi

There's a new dollar digi available at Stretch N Bubbles.  Isn't this fish just adorable?  You can find
Fish Bowl here in Alison's store for only $1 this week only.

I printed the image 3 times. Once on the background water paper and twice on white.  I colored the top image in detail with copics and cut it out.  I colored the bottom fish with less detail (no shading on the body) because you weren't going to really see it.  I colored the seaweed and gravel and then cut it out and pasted it onto the water background.  I added stickles to the top fish, air bubbles and gravel for some glitz!

Here are the colors I used.  The grays were used to give the bowl some definition and shadows around its edge.

Go on over an grab fish bowl while it's still $1.00!!

Have a great weekend
Hugs,
Marcy

Say What?!

Happy Thursday All,

HAHA LMBO! I love this image.

There is a new challenge up over at Do You Stack Up.

Shine on, baby ;-) It´s time to show us your sparkles and bling bling: brads, stickles, ribbon .. anything and lots of it :-)

This week´s sponsors are:

Digi Doodle Shop: $10 gift certificate to the store!
Digi Stamp Characters: give 3 digital images of choice from their Etsy store!

This image is named Wide Mouth Bass and is part of a sea life set from The Digi Doodle Shop.  It just made me laugh out loud when I saw him.  My first thought was, "Say What?!"  Which led me to the sentiment.  I had the perfect paper to go along with my fishy friend.  I colored him with copics and added lots of Startdust Stickles to his fins for some glitz.  For more sparkle, I also added the rhinestones as air bubbles.  I popped his lips because...well...I had to!  LOL  I put a coat of Glossy Accents on his eyes to make them shine, too.

I hope you go over and check out the design team at DYSU for some really great inspiration.

I've submitted my card to:
Color Throw Down - Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Marina Mist
Have a great day.

Hugs,
Marcy

Thinking of You

Happy Sunday Everyone,

It's a beautiful day here in New York (finally)!  We have a new challenge over at GingerLoft Challenge Blog.  Wait till you see the projects the DT made this week...they are gorgeous!!  This week is a very easy challenge...Die Cuts & Punches.  After all, who doesn't use a die cut or punch on their cards??  I always do.

This beautiful image, Waterpump with Iris,  was drawn by Tami and can be found in the GingerLoft Digi Stamp store here.  I really love this image.  It just speaks to me.  Reminds me of the days growing up as a kid when we would spend summers in upstate NY.

I colored the digi with copics and used the Papertrey Ink border die for the bottom of the card.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Anyhow, go on over and check out the DT projects and make one of your own to link to us.  You can win a great prize.

I'm off to spend some quality OUTSIDE time with my hubby now.  Have a great one.

Hugs,
Marcy

You Color My World

There is a new challenge up at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  I loved this image when I first saw it.  It is called Floral Trio and is available for only $2.00 at Priscillastyles Store.  I always try and demonstrate  how versatile digi stamps are...and this image really shows it.

The image is of the three flowers.  I imported it into MS Word then copied and pasted it several times.  I made two blocks of images ( 6 flowers across and 4 rows down) along with one separate image and printed them out.  Then I used copics to color the separate image.  Then I used Nestabilities to cut out the  scalloped oval from the block of images.

I matted the colored image and popped it off the oval.  I trimmed the second block of images to a squared 4 flowers by 4 flowers.  Then I mounted the matted oval onto the second block of images. It's hard to see in the photos, but I did color all the black and white images with Cool Grays to give them some depth.   The sentiment was computer generated.

These are the sketches for the challenge; you can go fancy or plain.  So, go on over to MMSC and check out what the talented DT did with this week's sketch.  You will surely be inspired.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Easter

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

I know Easter is far off, but Priscilla just finished drawing this adorable digi bunny and I had to use it right away!  He is named Stuffed Bunny and can be found here at Priscillastyles.  I followed the sketch for this week's new challenge up at MMSC

As always, you have a choice of a "fancy" or "plain" version to choose from.  Usually, I go with the fancy one, but this week I went with the plain sketch.    I colored bunny with copics then added stickles to his ears, bow and feet.  The glittered flower embellies  are chip board and were in my stash, but I cut off the package top, so I don't know who made them.  I do think they go great with the dp.

Here are the sketches.  I hope you go over to MMSC and check out all the beautiful projects my DT sisters created this week.  If you design and upload a card, you can win some great prizes, too.

Have an awesome day!

Hugs,
Marcy
