HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hi all,

Happy Halloween to everyone! It is a beautiful day here in New York; a perfect day for Tricking or Treating. Of course, my kids don't go trick or treating anymore, but we get loads and loads of kids in the neighborhood and I love when they come to the door. They are all so cute and happy.

It's also Saturday, so that means a new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches. Go check them out, there are some gorgeous creations this week. Here is the sketch
Here is my take on it. This is my beautiful "Daughter in Love" on my left and my beautiful niece on my right. I so adore these gals.
I made the swirl flourish and title in Scal. I embossed the "whole" page in the Cuttlebug. The trick with that is to cut the paper the width of the folder and emboss several times, lining it up with the previous image each time you run it through. Adding the pattern paper sort of hides the fact that the whole page is not really embossed. Does that make sense???
I added some rhinestones for bling, inked the edges and that's it. The color is not really right...I know it looks purple, but it's really a burgundy...pretty in person.
Well, gotta go get ready for my little visitors...have a great day everyone.
Hugs,
Marcy

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge

Hi Everyone,

It's Monday, so of course, it's a new challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot . Our challenge was to make a Halloween card using black, purplue & green. The gals made some great creations, so go check them out.

Here is mine. The image is from a font named Hallow Hell Dingbat. If you know me, you know how I love my free dingbats. I used copics to color and the funky flowers are from Cuttlebug. The paper is from K & Co.

Also, a great gal named Kendra is entered in that Gypsy 24 hour design contest. She created a wonderful layout and is hoping to win. Each week, Kendra always takes time to post all the different coupons available for us crafters on her blog. She always posts the link to the coupons on the Cricut message board, too.

Please take a moment and go over and vote for Kendra's layout. Thanks!

Hugs,

Marcy

Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday All,
I have to go to work today to do demo for a new Plaid product that is the easiest way I have ever seen to do silk screening. I'm not thrilled to go in today, since I usually have Saturday's off, but "ya gotta do wht ya gotta do!" At least this is a cool product to demo.
Over at Unscripted Sketches it is happy Saturday, too. Go on over and check out the awesome projects created by my DT sisters. Here is this week's sketch
And my take on it. This is my adorable great-nephew, Shane. I had such a great time with him on my visit to Florida. I took loads and loads of Pics of Shane and his brother, Ethan. They are great photo subjects...don't you think?
The footbal and title was cut with SCAL.

Gotta go off to work now. Have a great day!!
Hugs,
Marcy

I'm Back and Exhusted

Who would believe you need a vacation after your vacation! I DO!!

Well, we are back from our fabulous Caribbean vacation. We had 4 days in Florida visiting with family and 7 days on the NCL Pearl. The ship was wonderful. The food was great and we totally enjoyed and relaxed.
Of course, the best part is always spending time with our kids, nieces, nephews, great nephews, etc, etc, etc. We have a lot of folks down there and miss them so much when we leave. Needless to say, I took about 500 photos, so you'll be seeing them crop up in my upcoming posts. Now, I am trying to get back into the "real" world where I have work, craft commitments, laundry, food shopping, cleaning (left 22 year old son home alone--need I say more!!!) and all the other little things that get in the way of relaxing. LOL.

I am working on mt DT responsibilities for Unscripted Sketches and The Cuttlebug Spot. Here are a couple of projects I made for them before I left but didn't get a chance to post.
Here is sketch #26 from US.

Here is my version of the sketch. Are these the cutest little beauties ya ever saw??
The loopy punch border was cut with SCAL, as well as the title.

Over at The cuttlebug spot we were challenged to make any candy holder for Halloween. I cut this with TBBM. The tag was made with a dingbat. The brim of the hat was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.

Pretty in Pink

Hi All,

Over at The Cuttlebug Spot, we all designed with the color pink in honor of breast Cancer Awareness month. PLEASE make an appointment and have a Mammogram...if we don't take care of ourselves...who will??!!

The image is another dingbat colored with copics. The ribbon was cut on SCAL and embossed on the cuttlebug. I covered the image with glossy accents and popped it off the ribbon.
Later this week, I will be going on vacation for 10 days. Gonna see my Florida family (can't wait!!) and then going on a Carribean cruise.
My husband and I go every year on a cruise out of Florida. Sometimes, we have a whole crowd with us including my children, niece & nephews (with their extended families) brother and family, friends, etc. On those cruises there isn't a moment to lay around. I love being with the babies and spend much of the time with them. There are also loads of shipboard activities and I love going to all those hokey activities. One never tires of watching people carving ice sculptures and hairy men dressing like women. HeeHee.
This year, no one else could make it with us, so we are going alone. Luckily, we really like each other and enjoy being together! Don't laugh, I am bringing loads of images and my copics, too. One can sit in the sun for just so many hours, you know!! Besides, I've already had two basil cell cancers cut off my skin, so I don't want to push it. My DH is a sun worshipper, so I take two lounges--one next to him in the sun and the other in the shade where I go to read and listen to music. This year, I will be playing with my markers!! LOL

I'll see you when get back!!!

Marcy
