GOOD NIGHT IRENE!!!!!!

No Fun.

Well, Hurricane Irene got us!  No significant damage, but no power since Saturday 3 am.  We are thankful that we weathered the storm safely, but it really stinks to be in the dark with no TV, computers or everyday electronics that we are used to.

I am now sitting in a neighboring library trying to catch up with the world and let friends and family know that we are OK.  Town says it could be 2 - 7 days before we get power again.  YUCK!

Let's send out hugs and prayers for those that were devastated by the storm!

Happy Friday Everyone,

Well we are hunkering down here in New York.  We are expecting a MAJOR HURRICANE here tomorrow!  Frankly, I am nervous.  The media is screaming about it being the storm of the century.
Anyway, let's hope it is just a "better safe than sorry" scenario.

If you are not in the hurricane's path, you can spend time crafting.   I used this great digi, which is part of a threesome named Little Stems, for only $1.00 at Stretch N Bubbles

How cute are these baby  swaddlers?  The digi went so well with this photo.  The Title is from Cricut's cartridge New Arrival.  The flower was cut with one of the new PTI dies.
I colored this adorable digi with copics.

Please pray that Irene doesn't leave devastation in her path!

Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Birthday Boy!

Welcome back to a new week at DYSU! I hope you're ready for a new challenge... we're ready to see your fabulous creations! This week, the focus is on the boys and men in our lives, so let's see those masculine cards!

This week's Sponsors:

Digi Darla
One Month's Membership in our Digital Stamp Club

Stitchy Bear
$10 Gift Voucher for Stitchy Stamps, Panda Bear Designs and Dezina World

Stamping Boutique
Winner’s Choice of 5 Digis

How adorable is this Birthday Boy from Stitchy Bear?  I loved him the minute I saw him!

I colored him with copics then used a bunch of embellies and ribbons from my stash to "happy up" the card.  The ticket was a free digi.  Unfortunately, when I saved it, I forgot to use the designer's name in the title, and I can't remember who it was that shared their talent with us.  I really try to take the time to thank and acknowledge the designers. I feel badly about it, so if anyone recognizes it, please let me know.

I hope everyone has a great day and that we all escape Irene's wrath!

Hugs,
Marcy

I Love Camping

I love camping...NOT REALLY!  I am totally an inside gal.  Camping out under the stars gives me the willies.  But,  I do have a dear friend that loves to go camping, so I made this card for her.

This image is named Backpack and is this  weeek's DOLLAR DIGI at SNB.  You can get this image for only 1 week at $1.00.

I paper pieced and colored the image with copics. I designed the title in MS Word.

I hope you have a great weekend!!

Happy Anniversary

Hi Everyone,

Happy Tuesday to you all.  Wowzer the weather here in NY has been crazy!  On Sunday, we had over 11 inches of rain here on Long Island.  Even Monday was so ugly out and still raining.  Today should be
 nicer...I hope.

There is a new sketch challenge up at MMSC today. I used Priscillastyles image Man with Flowers. I used lots of yummy velvet ribbon and rich, textured  fabric to give my card a romantic feel.  Of course, the roses add to the whole love theme.
This image is colored with copics.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Here are the sketch choices:

I hope you go over and check out the challenge at MMSC.  You can win a great prize, too if you enter a project.

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Dollar Digi

Hi Everyone.

Well I hope you don't get tired of seeing my newest baby nephew, Evan because I took over 1,000 photos during his first week of life and I intend to scrap MOST of them.  LOL

I used this week's Dollar Digi from Stretch N Bubbles.  Teddy is an adorable bear that can be used for so many different projects from cards to scrapbook pages to home decor.  I know I will be using him
again soon.

I colored Teddy with copics then added a tiny floss bow.  The paper is from a stack named
Baby Boy from DCWV.  The sticker sentiments are from Sandylion.

Go on over to SNB and snag this super cute image for only $1.00.  It will only be available for one week!

Have a great day.

Hugs,
Marcy

You Know You Want It!

Hey Everyone,

How funny is this sassy lady???  I love her!!
. This week, at DYSU, we want you to EMBOSS IT!

This week's Sponsors:

Sassy Studio Designs
Winner’s Choice of 4 Digis

Digis With Attitude
$10 CAD (Canadian Funds) Gift Certificate

Crop Stop
Winner’s Choice of 3 Digis
Photobucket

When I saw this image named Grandma Gertie from Digis with Attitude, my first thought was, "You know you want it!" She makes me laugh everytime I look at her.
I printed Gertie twice; once on the leopard print and once on white.  I cut out her dress and glued it on top of her body that I colored with copics. I embossed her necklace and earrings with gold embossing powder for a little extra texture and glitz.  The background was embossed with folders from Cuttlebug              and Tim Holtz.  The beautiful flowers are from Joann's sold "by the yard."
I hope you go over to DYSU and check out the DT and all the wonderful creations they made this week.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Our Newest Prince

Happy Thursday Everyone,

I'm back from my loooong vacation in Florida. I loved spending time with my family. This visit was especially wonderful because we were there when our niece, Kelly had her third baby boy...

Evan Alexander

There is a new challenge up at DYSU .  I messed up my timing and didn't make my card for this challenge.  But you should definitely go over and check it out.

I did, however, start making my scrapbook pages with one of the over 1,000 photos I took of Evan.
I used the newest dollar digi from Alison over at Stretch N Bubbles.  This image is named Frog Prince and is available for $1.00 this week only.  The prince theme is especially perfect for us since Evan's father, Greg, is the family's self-proclaimed King.

How cute is Evan??  Here he is only 9 days old.
I colored the froggy image with copics and added stickles to his crown for some glitzy shine.  The booties I put on Froggy's feet, were left overs from one of the hundreds of pages I've made for Kelly over the past four years...Shane is 4, Ethan is 2 and now Evan. LOL.  I have loads of embellies with more to come!!

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Marcy
