Free Digi Stamp
Hi All,
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I hope you all had fun, peaceful days surrounded by loved ones. I am on vacation until January 5th so I am in crafting heaven. I finally have time to play with some new stamps I've bought over the past few months, but haven't had the chance to use yet.
For this card, I used a free digi image from Stretch N' Bubbles. Alison designs and gives away a free digi stamp every Wednesday. If you want this adorable bird house, go on over and snag it!
I colored the image with copics. I used my Nesties "Fancy Tags" for the sentiment and the "hinges." The pink pearls on the sentiment were white ones colored with copics to match.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

It's a Jungle Out There
Hi All,
We're finally dug out!! Boy, did we get dumped on...18" of snow. It is pretty for sure, but so much work to get rid of! It's supposed to be 45 degrees on Saturday, so I am hoping it melts the rest of it. Yuck!
This card is made with a couple more of my fav Doodlefactory stamps. I used copics to color the images.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Saying Goodbye to Kaitlin
Kaitlin is my niece's dog. One of three dogs. We all loved her. She was small, fiesty and loveable. She was old and quite the sad sack next to her young, big strong sisters (2 giant schnauzers). She had one of those yip yip barks...high and annoying LOL, but she made her point when need be.
She put up with a lot lately. Two new babies added to the house in two years time! Kaitlin was 17 years old. Now she rests in peace and we can surely say she had a good life. My niece asked me to make a tribute page for her and, of course, I did.
I followed this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches. Go on over and check out the great designs the DT members prepared for you this week.
We are expecting a blizzard here on Long Island. I HOPE NOT!!! I really hate the snow. But, on the bright side, if I am stuck in the house I can get more crafting done!! Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Marcy

Cutest Robot Ever!!
Hi Everyone,
Isn't this the cutest robot you ever saw? He is a digi image and you can find him over at Stretch 'N Bubbles...his name is Phil. LOL!
I followed this week's sketch up at Mojo Monday and used the colors from the challenge over at SPCC.
I colored Phil with copics. I used Glossy Accents on parts of him for some shine and popped him off the cog which I cut with my Cricut - Accent Essentials. The three skittles on top were clear and I colored them with copics to match...I love that trick! The sentiment is computer generated.
Have a great night, all.
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Tuesday
Hi All,
A happy Tuesday to you! I wish I felt better, but this cold is making me drag my butt. I just don't have any strength. I went to work, but left after 3 hours. I think I just need to rest till this bug decides to move on...
Here is a Christmas card I made using Santa from The DoodleFactory. I colored Santa with Copics and used Marcy Uchida's Puffy Velvet Fabric Marker for his beard and fur. You just color it on, wait for it to dry and then puff it up with the embossing heat gun. Then I added a little stickles for glitz.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Marcy

Miserable Monday
Oh boy...I have a humdinger of a cold and really feel awful. I've been taking all kinds of over the counter meds and keep hoping even one of them will help me feel better...I keep waiting!!
Anyway, it is also Challenge Monday over at The Cuttlebug Spot and being that this is the last one we will be doing for the year, I surely didn't want to miss it. Nilda asked us simply to make a Christmas card...so that was easy enough. Go see what my DT sisters have created...you'll be inspired.
I used the free digi stamp from Stretch 'N Bubbles again cause this little tree is so super cute and lends itself to so many styles. Go on over here and snag yourself this image.
I used stickles to add some glitz to the heart and then popped it. I used my favorite embossing folder again from Sizzix called Snowballs. The sentiment is from one of the new winter folders from Sizzix, too.
I chose the colors for my card to enter the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe. Alison of Stretch 'N Bubbles is the sponsor this week and has donated 4 stamps to the challenge winner. So get your mojo going and post a project using these "wild" colors.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Unscripted Saturday
Hi All,
It's Saturday...wow, the week sure flies! There is a new challenge up over at Unscripted Sketches to check out. My DT sisters did a great job...AGAIN! Go on and check them out and hopefully you will use the sketch to create something great!
Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch. These are my two adorable great nephews. Their Mom wanted me to create a layout that would document the nicknames we all use for the boys. She is afraid as they grow older we will forget what we used to call them.
I cut the titles and names in SCAL and embossed the title with my new fav Sizzix folder, Snowballs.
I hope everyone has a great weekend...get that shopping done!!
Hugs,
Marcy

SO EXCITED!!
Hi Everyone,
I am so excited to tell you that I have been selected to become part of the Design Team at Stretch 'N Bubbles. It's a great Digi stamp blog. Alison is the owner and a very talented designer.
Every Wednesday is FREE DIGI WEDNESDAY when Alsion posts a great digital stamp for you to take and use however you'd like. Alison also gives away images other times, too. Today she has 2 images up for free...Go Grab 'Em HERE
Starting in January, I will be part of the DT that posts on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am really looking forward to stretching myself with the digis.
Alison also has some great tutorials on using digital stamps. You should check them out; I really learned a lot.
This cute little reindeer is one of the freebies offered today. I colored him with copics, cut his body out and layered him onto the card with pop dots. I added a little stickles for glitz on his nose and chalked the background to add some color.
Have a great night.
Hugs,
Marcy

Hi Everyone,
I had a great day in the city yesterday. It was wonderful to see my family and had so many good laughs. It wasn't too cold and we were dressed for the deep freeze anyway, so it was perfect.
We bought stuff from the street vendors knowing full well that we will probably be making mistakes...which we did...hee hee. But it is so easy and fun to get caught up in the moment. We went into Macy's on 34th Street and after 15 minutes I had to leave. It really was overwhelming. So many people, no room to walk; it was dizzying.
I guess, back in the day when I lived and worked in the city, I was used to being pushed and banged around. Now...not so much! I guess I am a suburban gal now, for sure.
Today is Monday, so that means we have a new challenge up at The Cuttlebug Spot. Nilda asked us to make something that can hold our holiday gifts. Here is mine.
I used a new Sizzix embossing folder named Snowball...it is definitely my new favorite folder. The image is an adorable free digi stamp designed by Alison over at Stretch 'N Bubbles. I selected the colors to match the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe.
I used my copics to color the image.
Here is the color combo:
Have a great day.

Beautiful Sunday
Hi All,
Even though the weather was so horrible yesterday, we didn't get the snow...yippee!
It rained all day, but that was OK, as long as it wasn't snow! We got most of our shopping done and then had a really nice late lunch at The Cheescake Factory. We don't usually get to eat there because the wait is always soooo long and I do not have the patience to wait. But apparently, at 3:30 in the afternoon the wait is only about 10 minutes...that I can handle. Anyway the food was yummy and I fought the urge to have one of their fabulous desserts. Yea for me!
Today we are going into the city (Manhattan) to meet with my brother and sister-in-law who are in from Florida. That will be fun.
I made this card last night using the adorable digi stamp from Pink Cat Studio. I colored him with copics and added some stickles on the dreidle. I made it with two challenges in mind...Mojo Monday and SPCC
Have a great day, all!

Marcy

Unscripted Saturday
Hi Everyone,
It's Saturday...yea!! No work for 3 days. I can play and take care of all the errands I can't do during the week.
DH and I are going to do some holiday shopping today. It is pouring here in NY with the promise of snow tonight. YUCK! I do not like snow, all it means is shoveling and slipping and general back pain.
On to nicer things....
Saturday also means another new Unscripted Sketches challenge is up. I must admit, this was a hard one for me this week. I think if I made a card, it would have been easier. But I am not one for taking the easy way out...I guess otherwise it couldn't be called a challenge. LOL.
Here is the sketch
and here is my take on the sketch.
Go on over and see what you can do with the sketch. Remember, you can turn it, flip it or use it anyway.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Tuesday
Happy Tuesday All,
It was such a miserable, rainy day here in New York yesterday, so I had a chance to do a couple of challenges.
Here is another great color combo from The Play Date Cafe. I am loving this challenge blog. Go check them out, if you have a chance.
Here is their combo:
Here is my card. The background stamp and cute little guy is from Doodle Factory. I used my Copics to color them in. Then I covered the little guy with Glossy Accents and popped him off the card. It's hard to tell, but he looks great all shiny, it really makes him pop.
Another nice blog I found recently it is called Stretch N' Bubbles Designs. Alison creates and sells some great digi images. This is a free (you know how I love free!) digi stamp you can get over there. It's called "Pucker Up." I think she is beautiful, don't you? I printed her and colored her with Copics.
Have a great day all. I'm off to work now.
Hugs,
Marcy

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge
Hi All,
Happy Monday to everyone. It's cyber Monday, so I am checking out all the super specials that are being offered out there in cyber space.
Today is also a new challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot. Nilda is "Kicking off the Season" with a winter themed challenge. Go check out the great designs; they are sure to inspire you.
Here is my card. I used the cuttlebug with my Nesties to cut the scalloped ovals.
The background paper is embossed and glittered from last year's Christmas stack from DCWV. The image is another great dingbat freebie, colored with copics.
Have a great day everyone!!
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Saturday
Hi All,
I'm glad it's Saturday! I had to work on Black Friday. Although, I must say it was not at all crazy at the store (ACM), it was a long day and I am happy to be off today.
There is a new sketch up over at Unscripted Sketches today. Please go on over and check out my design sisters and the great cards and layouts they created with this sketch.

As you can see, I turned the sketch on its side to use it. That's the beauty of these sketches...you can turn them any way at all and they are still wonderful stepping stones for inspiration. These are my adorable Great Nephews again. The titles are cut with SCAL. You can't tell from the photo,, but the background paper is all embossed, shiny and bright...really nice. It's from a K & Co stack named Citronalla.
Have a great day.

New Challenge Blog
This may not be a new challenge blog... but I just found it. It's named The Play Date Cafe. It's a different kind of blog. Rather than a sketch to inspire you they use color ads or photos to get your mojo going. This week is a really nice color combo. I was inspired immediately to make this layout of my Niece and Great Nephew.
Here is the ad they posted as the color challenge:
Here is my take on the challenge. I really like the color combo. The hearts and titles are cut on SCAL, of course.
Have a great day.

Unscripted Sketches Saturday
Wow, the week sure went fast. It's Saturday already!! You know that means -- there is a new sketch up at Unscripted Sketches It is a really wonderful, versatile sketch that can be used for almost anything. Go on over and check out the super creations the DT members made this week...you are sure to be inspired.
Here is the sketch:
Here is my version. Again, I used one of my new Doodle Factory stamps...I love them! I colored them in with my Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to her emblem, cut her out and popped her onto the DF city background stamp. The sentiment is computer generated.
Have a great day.

Happy Thursday
Hi All,
I love Thursdays...especially when I don't have a thousand errands on my day off. Today I only have 4 errands and the rest of the day is for me to play with my little pretties (paper, stamps, photos, copics, LOL).
I made this card for the challenge over at Mojo Mondays. It's a really nice sketch and I can see using it over and over again.
The image is another of my free dingbats...you know how I love the freebies!! I colored it with my copics and used the Cuttlebug for the embossed background. The scalloped rectangle was cut with SCAL.
I used Marvy's Puffy Velvet pen for my Teddy's hat. It looks really neat in person.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Monday
Hi All,
I hope you had a great weekend. It's Monday, so that means there is a new challenge up at The Cuttlebug Spot...BUT WAIT...Nilda is down with the flu. Not the bad one, but the flu nonetheless. So, she didn't post the challenge today. Fell better quick, Nilda!
The challenge was to create anything with a turkey. I got this image from Pink Cat Studio I love this little guy!!
I colored him with copics, cut him out and popped him onto the embossed cardstock (Bloom Dots). I also added three buttons tied with raffia.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Saturday
Hi All,
This has to be a quick post today, I have to go to work and make sure all the demos scheduled at the store are organized and running smoothly. Today at AC Moore we have yarn, Wilton Gingerbread House, candy making, kids coloring and Cookie Exchange demos all running simultaneously.
Today is Saturday and another great sketch is posted over at Unscripted Sketches.
Here it is:
And here's mine...This is my Great Nephew Shane, again. Isn't he just beautiful?? The monkey in the title is a stamp from my new fave, Doodle Factory and colored with copics. The title is cut from SCAL. The paper is from DCWV.
Off to work. Have a great day.

Marcy

Bad Weather Day
Hi All,
I am off from work on Thursdays. It's the day I do a lot of my errands, but today was such a miserable day, I didn't even go out. It's raining and the chill is the kind that goes right down into your bones. So, I played instead.
I made this card for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday I used one of my new stamp sets from Doodle Factory (I love 'em) and colored the squirrel with copics. I cut the scallop with SCAL and the circle using Plantin. I always cut circles with the Cricut...no matter what, I cannot get a good smooth cut with scissors and since I can get virtually any size I need cut, I always use my Cricut.

Practice, Practice, Practice!
Hi All,
That's what I am doing...practicing with my copics. I made this card using one of the new stamp sets I bought on Saturday. I think it turned out pretty well. I try to play with the markers a little bit each day. It's a bit (no, a lot) intimidating, but I keep trying.
Even though I am just a beginner, I am going to link my card to a "red hair" challenge over at Copic Creations. I'm nervous do it since everyone there seem to be pros, but gotta get my feet wet!
Have a great night.
Hugs,
Marcy

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge
It's Monday, so it's time for another great challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week, Nilda asked us to create anything with fruit on it. Easy enough!
Go on over and check out the other DT gals...some really beautiful creations!
I can't remember who made this stamp because I took all the rubber off the wood last year and didn't write down all the manufactrer's names, but I think it was Inkadinkado. I used my copics to color the image and my Nesties in the Cuttlebug to cut the scalloped ovals.
Here are two more of the cards we made in the Wild Card Cricut Class I taught at the store (AC Moore) last week. "The girls" really enjoyed and I love having them in my classroom.
This one is the Owl Card on page 72.
This one is the House card on page 75. If you want to mail this one, I suggest you cut the envelope on blackout feature, otherwise I think it will be a problem going through those machines at USPS.

Stamp Show Goodies
OMG, I had such a good time at the stamp show. It was small, about 20 vendors, but it took a whole day to go through it! HEE HEE I love to watch all the demos and search through the unmounted rubber. I spent a small fortune there. I went with a load of cash and spent it all by the second booth!!
I love the stamps from Doodle Factory and knew I was gonna spend the bulk there. They have so many adorable stamps that I think are perfect for coloring with my copics (I keep practicing). It was so hard to choose, I must have been in that booth for an hour! But these are the ones I chose. You can find them here on line.
I'm gonna go play with them now. Of course, it takes hours to cut them apart, but I know if I don't so it soon...I won't do it at all.
Have a great night,
Hugs,
Marcy

Long Island Stamp Show
Hi All,
Short and sweet today cause I am headed off to the Long Island Stamp Show. It comes every year on this Saturday and I loooooove it. It's my chance to see all the goodies up close, see new techniques and spend lots of $ on stuff I love...DH gave me money for my upcoming birthday just to spend here. I'll report on anything I might see that is new and exciting.
It's Saturday, so it's another new sketch over at Unscripted Sketches. Go on over and check them out and if you have the time create something and link!!!
Here is the sketch
Here is mine:
The titles were cut with SCAL and the duck on Cricut with NA. This adorable guy is my 10 month old great nephew, Ethan...isn't he delicious??
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Marcy
