Go check it out!

I used copics to color the image. I chalked around her in blue to give the feeling of evening. A few gold stickles for the star makes it sparkle. The swirls are from Sizzix and the paper is from K & co. The flowers are also K & co.

Have a great day!

Unscripted Sketches

Hi All,

They say today is actually the busiest shopping day of the year...the Saturday before Christmas. I hope you all are almost finished with your prepping so you can begin to enjoy the Holiday season. Hubby and I are venturing out today to the mall, so I'll let you know if I get back alive!! LOL

Today at Unscripted Sketches we have a Piggyback challenge. Here is the sketch and the add-on is Do Not Use Patterned Paper. It seems easy until you have to do it! Of course, solid paper does have an important place in my crafting world, but I found it hard to create knowing I couldn't use patterns. I kind of cheated a little because I used an embossing folder to give me the pattern to create interest.

I used Sizzix Snowflakes and some 3-D stickers from Jolee's that I had in my stash. Please go on over and check out the great projects the gals at Unscripted Sketches created for you today.

Have a great one.

Hugs,

Marcy

What's the Word, Bird? BLOG CANDY!!

Hi Everyone,
Boy it is freezing here in NY. I am so not ready for the bone chilling cold. The older I get, the more I hate winter...BLECH! LOL
This image is the newest dollar digi from Alison over at Stretch N Bubbles. It is named Owl be There and can be found here in the store. GO and get it now because she only keeps it at this price for one week!

I really love how this card came out. Really, change the sentiment and it can be used for any ocassion. I colored it with copics and inked the edges with distress ink to tone it down a bit and give it that shabby chic look. The beautiful flower and bling are from Prima.

Don't forget that Alison is starting a new challenge blog named Do You Stack Up that will begin on Jan 6th. We are all very excited about it. Some of us DT gals from SNB will also be joining the new blog. Alison has also selected a bunch of uber talented gals to be on the new DT with us. You will not want to miss this. YOU CAN GO OVER NOW AND BECOME A FOLLOWER TO BE ENTERED FOR SOME WONDERFUL BLOG CANDY!

I also submitted this to Copic Creations for sparkle.

Marcy

Bon Voyage

Hi Everyone,

I hope your holiday preparations are going well and that you are not too exhausted to enjoy it! Of course, I work retail, so I am totally beat and we are still 2 weeks away from the big day!!

Anyhow, today brings us another new challenge up at Gingerloft Challenge. This challenge will last for four weeks instead of two so that the design team can take some time off to do all that extra stuff we need to take care of during this busy time. The challenge is "distressing." You can interpret that any way you want. Visit the blog and see what our talented DT has come up with to get your mojo going! The image is named Bon Voyage and can be purchased in the Gingerloft store for only $2.00.

As you can see, I decided to really go all out with the distressing theme. I distressed EVERYTHING! I used my Zutter Distrezz-it-all to sand all the paper edges. That tool is so cool.

I used copics to color in the image and Distress Inks Antique Linen to distress all around the edges of this beautiful lady. I added loads of Prima Flowers and "Say it With Pearls."

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hugs,

Marcy

So Big

Hi Everyone,

Here is this week's Unscripted Sketches project. I am working on an album for my niece. This sketch is such a versatile one that I will probably use it several times for the album. No matter how you turn it -- 90 degrees or upside down, it makes a great layout.

This is short today...gotta go to work! I'll be back tomorrow with a new challenge for Gingerloft stamps.

Hugs,
Marcy

REINDEER POOP

Hi Everyone,

I just love this Reindeer Poop! I found the poem online (just google reindeer poop!) and teamed it up with this adorable image from Stretch N' Bubbles named You Light up my Life. Alison has this digi up for just $1.00 for this week only!! So go and grab it while you can.

I am making 40 of these to give as little gifts to the people I work with. I used chocolate covered raisins but you could also use malted milk balls, choco covered nuts, etc. I colored the image with copics. I used a nice thick coating of red stickles to make the nose really glitzy! The bags are just clear candy treat bags you can find in any craft store.

I have been making about 6 toppers a day so that I am not overwhelmed at the last minute.

It's is getting really, really cold out here on Long Island. I just came home from work a few minutes ago and cannot wait to get into my jammies and curl up with the husbter and watch some TV. We are gonna veg out for the night. Love it!

Marcy

Follow Your Dreams

Happy Monday,

Well, at least it is for me...I'm off today! Yay!

There is a new challenge up over at Gingerloft Challenge . This week the theme is to use BOWS. Pretty easy, right? Go on over and upload a project. You can win a spot on the DT and a free image. Check it out here

.

For this card, I used the image named "Mermaid Scene" designed by Tami at Gingerloft. You can find the image here in the store I used copics to color her. Then I put a coat of Diamond Glaze on her tail and on all the fish to make them shiny. The "Fancy Flourishes" are from Sizzix.

That's all for today; I have to finish up some DT assignments!

Hugs,
Marcy

Deck The Halls

Hi Everyone,

There is another great Unscripted Sketch up today. Some of my DT sisters found it a little hard to use. I thought it was one of the easier ones. LOL you never know what gets your mojo going!!

This image is Alison's newest $1.00 digi available for this week in Stretch N' Bubbles store here. It is named Star Ornament. Alison only keeps these $1.00 digis available for a short time, so get it while you can!

I paper pieced the image by printing it 3 times; once each on cream, green and burgundy CS. After piecing, I colored all the circles in with a Liquid Gold paint pen. I used Martha Stewart's gold glitter which is really, really glitzy (I love it!). The small snowflakes on the side were cut from Snowflake Frameabilities. The sentiment is from one of Studio G's $1.00 stamps.

Have a great weekend everyone. If you are in the northeast like me...
STAY WARM!!

Hugs,
Marcy

Feed The Birds

Hi Guys,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We sure did! But today I have to go to work for BLACK FRIDAY!!! At least I don't have to be there at 5 AM when the store opens. But anyway, it promises to be a very, very busy day at AC Moore. They are having some great door busters.

Anywho, if you are lucky enough not to have to work today, or are smart enough not to willingly enter the trenches, I hope you get to enjoy and relax and create a little.

This is one of the most adorable snowmen I've ever seen; don't ya think? He is named Feed The Birds and was designed by Alison over at Stretch N' Bubbles. You can find him here in the shop.

I bought one of these snow globes at my store for about $2.00. I colored the image with copics and cut it to fit the circle. It looks so cute in there. I think it will make a great add on gift for a friend or teacher or anyone you have to give a little gifty to.

Gotta go to work now!!! Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Happy Anniversay

Hi Everyone,

I made this slider card for my Niece and Nephew's anniversary. I just love using this technique. I always receive "squeals of joy" phone calls when the recipient opens the envelope and pulls up that tab. Of course, I always include a photo of them or their loved ones! It really is easy to make and has such a wow factor. You can find the tutorial for the slider card here on Splitcoast Stampers.

I used the new Unscripted Sketch this week for my layout design. Take time to go over and check out the talented DT and all the great projects they made this week.

Here is the sketch. Of course, we are Unscripted so you can turn it any which way to suit you.

Have a great day everyone. We are off to visit with my dearest friends living in New Jersey. We only see each other a few times a year so we have to cram all the laughter, fun, love and food into a few hours. By the time we leave our bellies are full and hurt from laughing so hard! I can't wait to get there~

Marcy

Square Snowman

Hi Everyone,

This is Squared Snowman. I really love this image. I made him quite large (for a 5" x 5" card) and printed him 3 times...once each on white cardstock, orange pattern and blue dot papers. Then I paper pieced the image which was really easy because of its large and simple design.

I used copic C's for some shadows and dimension. I added some flatback pearls and stickles for a little glitz. The snowflakes are from Cricut's Accent Essentials cart.

Squared Snowman is available in the Stretch N Bubbles store here.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hugs,
Marcy

Holiday Cards

Happy Monday,

I mentioned that I had to demo at work (AC Moore) on Saturday. Here are a few of the cards I made for the demonstration. The top one in red and the white one below was made using Tim Holtz's embossing folders and core'dinations paper. These were a big hit! Customers that had never been exposed to The Cuttlebug or Sizzix...were just wowed! The sanding of the raised images just delighted them. Funny, I get pumped each time I turn someone new onto scrapping, stamping or paper crafting.

This white card is so simple, yet elegant -- I love it. I will be making many of these to give to my friends this holiday.

The next three cards were made with The Cricut Christmas Card Cartridge. I was not really impressed with this cart. It is very limited in choices and designs. It was nice to play with, but I would not put this one on my wish list...IMHO very unexciting cart.

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Exciting News

Happy Sunday Everyone,
My exciting news is that I have been invited to be a member of the new design team over at GingerLoft. Tami is the owner and designer of some very wonderful digi stamps.

Tami has started a challenge blog, too. This week the design teams enters at Challenge # 6 and it is all about The Great Outdoors. I would love if you would go over and check out Tami's site and all the other fabulously talented dt members.

This image is named Woodland Snowman and can be found here. Isn't he just adorable?? I colored him with copics and added stickles to his broom and scarf. I also stickled the adorable bunny and birds to give them some glitz. I did some faux stitching on the dp under the snowman.
We are having some wonderfully warm weather here in New York this weekend, so I am going to take advantage and go out with my hubby. Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs,
Marcy

Dollar Digis

Hi All,
Well, I am back from vacation. We had a wonderful time!! The weather in Florida was not exactly great, but I didn't care because I am not a sun worshipper (like my husband!) We spent time with our kids and family. We ate a lot and laughed even more. I went to a few scrapbook stores and many casinos!! Needless to say, I left a lot of money everywhere we went!

Alison, over at Stretch 'N Bubbles, has started offering some dollar digis. There will be at least one per week up for grabs for a short time. This week is a Santa stamp called "All is Calm." You can find him here in the store.
I colored Santa with copics and used a Puffy Velvet fabric marker to puff up his beard, cuffs, hat and bird house. Then I added some stickles for glitz.
And don't forget to visit Alison's Free Digital Stamp blog. Every day Alison names and links blogs that offer free digi stamps. It's a fabulous way to try digital stamping and see how easy they are to use. You will visit many sites...some styles you will love, some will just not be your type. But you will get an eduacation in the styles that are availalbe. I have already built up a huge inventory of digis, just from artists that are knid enough to share their talents with us.
Also today, I received a lovely blog award from Zulma. The rules for the award are to:
1. Thank the person that gave it to you. Thank you so much, Zulma.
2. Copy and past the award onto your blog.
3. Share 3 things about yourself that you enjoy. Easy--family, crafting, slot machines!!
4. Pass the award to 5 others:
Alison -Stretch N Bubbles
Beth - IFR
CherylAnn - CherylAnn's Stamping Spot
Becky - Camellia Cottage
Suzanne - The Sparkling Scrapper

Have a wonderful night.
Hugs,
Marcy

GO GATORS

Happy Saturday,

My "daughter-in-love" is a huge University of Florida Gator fan. Really huge! I don't get the whole football thing...but she does -- and I lover her -- so I made her this card gift set. I designed the box using this week's sketch up over at Unscripted Sketches.

The Image is from Meljins called Fall Ball Teddy Bear. I colored this adorable guy with copics using the Gators colors of blue and orange. I computer generated the "Go Gators." This is a great example of how versatile digital images are. I printed the image in two sizes for this project. You can't do that with rubber!!

Because of all the layers, the card weighs over 1 ounce, so I included 2nd ounce stamps to make it easier for her to mail out.
Here is the sketch. If you have time, go on over and create something using this sketch. It's a very easy one to work with.
Have a great weekend!!
Hugs,
Marcy

AHOY MATEY

Avast Me Hearties,

Isn't this the cutest little pirate you ever did see?? She is available from Stretch N Bubbles here in the shop.

The paper and stickers are from Karen Foster. I colored her with copics. I put a coat of Glossy Accents on her boots for some shine and Sakura clear stardust Gelly Roll on her sword handle. I drew in a deck for her to stand on...very easy to do. I love the netting I had in my stash from an old Luau party I had a few years ago. I know one day I would use it again! Added some rhinestones and...done!

I made this an easel card so she would really stand up.
Yo Ho, my friends,
Marcy

BEWARE

Hi All,

How cute is this puppy? I just love him!

For my inspiration, I used this week's sketch from Card Patterns # 87. It is such a great, simple sketch that can be used for anything...cards, layouts, bags, etc.
The image is from a Halloween set from Inkadinkado named Cat & Friends. I colored him with copics. I gave his cute little nose, pumpkin and hat a thick layer of Diamond Glaze for some shine. The paper is from one of my fav stacks from Cloud 9 named Harvest Holiday. The sticker is from Rusty Pickle that I had in my stash. I also added a cute pumpkin charm onto the binder clip, also from my stash. I used the Sizzix embossing folder named Lines & Circles for the yellow background.

I designed the card to go along with the following challenges:
Fab & Funky - Things that go bump in the night
The Cuttlebug Spot - Welcome Fall

Have a great day!

Hugs,

Marcy
