Cuttlebug Challenge #5

Over at The Cuttlebug Spot blog http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ this week's challenge is called "Dot to Dot" using the swiss dot folder. I can't remember who's stamp this is, but the image just cracks me up.

I used the Magic Colored Pencil Technique to color the image. The Scor-Pal makes it so easy create definition.

This week I am working on samples for a Holiday Cardmaking class in November. I'll post them when I am through.

Have a great day!

I'm Baaaack

I just got back from our family cruise. I am exhaused!! I need a vacation from my vacation. It was a lot of fun. Although we were disappointed with the ship (Crown Princess), we did have a great time just being together. Later this week, after I get myself organized at work and at home, I will post some photos of the vacation.

Here is a card I made for Challenge #4 over at The Cuttlebug Spot. http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ . This week we are challenged to use two embossing folders in one project. I used Swirls and Swiss Dots. The stamp is from My Sentiments Exactly. The siwrls were embossed on Die Cuts With a View glitter card stock...it embossed beautifully!

Challenge #3

Well, we've waited a long time for tomorrow. We are going to Florida for our "Annual Family Cruise." Each year, our family gets together and takes a cruise out of Florida. It is truly the best quality time we have together...out on the ocean, no work, no place to go, no cell phones, no appointments...just us...and the casino, of course. I just love it!!

Here is my version of "Jazz it Up" the third challenge at the new blog dedicated to the cuttlebug...The Cuttlebug Spot . http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/ Check it out on Monday when Nilda uploads the challenge. Why not try this technique for yourself and upload your design.

Iused the swirls folder to emboss onto the black cardstock. Then I lightly rubbed white chalk over the raised swirls. I sprayed the cardstock with workable fixative. That keeps the chalk from rubbing off. Of course, you could always use clear acrylic sealer or hair spray.

See ya when we get back!

Sanding Surprise

It was my turn to choose the technique challange #2 for the new Cuttlebug blog. http://www.thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

I chose what I call "Sanding Surprise". When I demo this easy, fun technique to customers at AC Moore (I am a Classroom Coordinator) they just love it. You would be surprised at how many people do not realize that cardstock is availalbe with a white core, as well as, a solid colored core.
Anyway, it has a big "Wow Factor" for some people, while being such an easy technique.

Supplies: Cuttlebug folders: Happy Birthday, Spots & Dots
White core cardstock
Sanding block or sand paper
Ribbon
Technique: Using white core cardstock, emboss with your choice folder. Lightly sand off the color until the white core shows. Just add it to your project. It's as easy as that.

This challenge will be posted on October 6th, so be sure to check out the other talented DT members and the other great folks that submit their samples.
