DYSU Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Today, I am excited to be doing a Guest Designer stint on my favorite challenge blog, DYSU.  They are doing a blog hop in honor of one of the DT sisters, Meredith, who is leaving the team.

Are you arriving from my talented crafty friend from Puerto Rico, Joan? I always marvel at how creative Joan is.  If you arrived here on your own, I encourage you to start from the beginning.

This week, I'm showcasing Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I colored this adorable seal with copics and then popped him off the page.  I put a nice thick coat of Glossy Accents on his ball. This was a perfect challenge for me as I have hundreds of buttons in my stash!

Now off you go to see Mary.  And in case you get lost, here is the full list...
It's been a hoot being back with the gals!  Thanks DYSU.

Hugs,
Marcy

Big Brother

Happy Saturday Morning,

Here is another little outfit I made for my "soon to be here" Granddaughter.
Morty, my kids' beloved dog, is going to be a big brother when the baby comes.

These new generation iron-on's are wonderful compared to the old ones that you had to seal on the edges.  Now they wash beautifully as long as you launder inside out and on gentle cycle.

The business card, is a joke for my kids.  They want the baby to call me Bubby, which is Yiddish for Grandma.  My Mom was "Bubby" to my kids and now they want me to be the Bubby. OK, I kind of felt like the name should be retired when my Mom passed, but they feel otherwise...so Bubby it is!

I have more outfits and things I've made, so if you like baby crafty things...keep an eye out for coming posts.
As always, I so appreciate your visiting me.

Hugs,
Marcy

Creating for Baby

Hi Everyone,

I made a bunch of outfits for my "almost here" baby Granddaughter :)
This is a 4 piece set including a onesie, socks and headband.
I just love these giant flowers on little baby heads!

I sewed the silk flowers together then sewed them onto the clothing.  The large rhinestone on the onesie is sewn on for obvious safety reasons.  The smaller rhinestones are glued onto the socks with
Fabri-Tac.  The headband stone was hot glued.  I put a nice soft piece of felt inside the head band, under the flower to keep baby's head protected.

I can just imagine taking a million pictures of my grandbaby in this outfit!
I'll be back soon with some more outfits I made.
Have a great day!

Hugs,
Marcy

Flowers for the Mom To Be!

Onesie & sock bouquet!

I made this arrangement for my Daughter-In-Love's baby shower.

At first glance, they really look like roses.
The onesies are from Carters that came in a pack of three adorable pink and white patterns.

Later in the week, I will post a tutorial on how to make this bouquet.

Off to work now.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
Marcy

Showers of Love

Hi Everyone,

Today is the first day in years that I am posting a project just for myself.  With my Daughter-in-Love getting ready to deliver our first Grand daughter, I've decided to free myself up for a while from Design Team responsibilities.  I've been a DT member for 8 different teams for over 5 years.  I've loved every minute of it, but now I want to just create for my family for a while.  Also, I will be away a lot visiting with the new bundle of joy!

Yesterday, was the baby shower and I was so happy when my DIL asked me to make the decorations/centerpieces for the party.  She didn't want anything too big, but wanted baby pics of her and my son included in the design.  I surfed Pinterset (LOVE IT) for some ideas and this is what I came up with... She loved it!

The centerpieces are double-sided - with bows and photos on both sides.

It made me cry as I selected photos of my son for these decorations.  Where did the time go????

Tomorrow, I will post photos of the onesie floral bouquet I made for Briana.

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Marcy

Final TAWS Project

Hi Everyone,

Today is bittersweet for me.  This is my last project as a design team member of TAWS

It was a hard decision for me to make to leave the team. I have been so busy lately creating for my -- soon to arrive-- first grandchild!  To say we are excited is an understatement! There just aren't enough hours in the day to go to work, care for my family, create, craft, blog and still devote the time needed to be an effective, responsible design team member.

I have been creating with Alison (designer/owner), for many years, on several different blogs.  She has truly been a great leader and an absolute joy to work with. I know Alison's business ventures will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.  She has surrounded herself with an awesome team of wonderful,  uber talented designers that will help her reach her dreams.

For today's card, I used the Alphabet Soup set to stramp the # 50.  I heat embossed in white to make it really pop.  The paper rosette is cut from Tim Holtz' Alterations die.

I will continue to create and blog.  In fact, I am currently working on a new blog that will be a place for me to post only the projects I make for my grandbaby.  I will post the name as soon as it is up and running.

Please stop back often and say hi.

Love,
Marcy

      Wednesday, July 18, 2012

      Hi All,

It's gotta be a really quick post today as I am up to my eyeballs in crafting for my duaghter-in-love's baby shower.  I'll be posting these projects as I finish them.

Today I used Fa-La-La again for another Christmas card.  The ornament is just one of the wonderful images in this set from TAWS.  Colored with copics and stickles, this little ornament makes a big impact on the card.  Sorry, the picture really doesn't do it justice.

Pop on over to TAWS and see what the other DT gals made for you today.
      Hugs,
      Marcy

      Reindeer Food

How adorable is this reindeer food poem.  It's from the Fa-La-La set from TAWS, again :)
This is such a super cute set.

The wooden tote is from AC Moore and only cost about $1.00.  I painted it white then covered it with reindeer paper.  The lines are very easy to trace and cut.  I used mini marshmallows as the reindeer food.
I think it makes a very cute little gift for Christmas.

I hope you go over to TAWS and grab this set.  It is so versatile!

      Have a great day.
      Hugs,
      Marcy

      Fa-La-La

      Fa-La-La!!

Again, we are having Christmas in July.  This is my favorite sentiment from the Fa-La-La set from TAWS.
Of course there are many other images and sentiments in the set, but I just love saying Fa-La-La!  HeeHee.

I used this thick felt bird that I bought from AC Moore last year for $1.00.  It was meant as an ornament, but I loved it so much I bought several different shapes for my paper crafting.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

      Hugs,
      Marcy
